Situated at the intersections of art, spirituality, lineage, relationality, and ritual, Baibai Research Group is a transdisciplinary art platform reimagining new futures rich with expanded spiritual expressions. Founded by Salty Xi Jie Ng following her grandma's retirement from physical form, BBRG attends to larger discourses from an intimate starting point of a grandchild —at once grieving and curious— looking for her lost grandparent.
Based in Singapore and other dimensions, BBRG conducts experimental and collaborative research to investigate the hopes and tensions within syncretic Chinese religious traditions, ancestor worship as creative posthumous relationship development, and ritual as everyday acts of healing and self-invention.
