“We tend to think of the erotic as an easy, tantalizing sexual arousal. I speak of the erotic as the deepest life force, a force which moves us toward living in a fundamental way.”
- Audre Lorde

As ageing women invisibilised in today’s world, what does it mean to be in life, to feel closeness to life? A diverse group of older women aged 59 to 82 —including a hairdresser, ballet dancer, activist, natural healer, hiker— consider this question in a collaborative process advocating for the many dimensions of intimacy that are inextricably linked to health. Manifesting as video vignettes, interactive performance, and writing, they reflect on nature, relationships, childbirth, death, sex, and how these change with age. You are invited to witness and participate in this intimate virtual experience.

Accompanying Not Grey is issue 3 of The Grandma Reporter, a collaborative publication project on senior women’s culture around the earth. Download Issue 3.

In-conversation with the collaborators on 26 July, Monday, 7.30pm, livestreamed. Viewers are invited to be part of the conversation with the collaborators on what intimacy means at different stages of our lives.
